Macedonia...??

I recently came across an iPhone application "WorldFactbook".
It's description: "The
world at your fingertips! The World Factbook gives you instant access to a myriad of informat
ion on every country on the planet. Compiles by the CIA and presented in an easy access format, the World Factbook is great for students, travellers, diplomats or just fact junkies."

I happened to notice that FYROM, or Former Yugoslavic Republic Of Macedonia is mentioned as "Macedonia", to discribe the country's name.
This is inaccurate to say the least since no final agreement has been reached for the name issue. Thenaming issue is an ongoing dispute between Greece and FYROM and has generated a great deal of political and academic debate on both sides.

The irony is that the description states that the application is compiled, approved and updated by the CIA (!) and is great for students and... diplomats (!)

I strongly believe that this mistake is going to be fixed with a future update since it lifts an eyebrow to an already tented matter.

wow you surely are fast tracking any comment made on fyrom issue eh? :) The way I see it, the one who needs to get a life is the one spending the valuable seconds of the one he/she already has to contribute his/her pretty much useless, idiotic & ,let me say, trivial point of view on a matter that shall not be resolved with stupid mottos like the one you both used, macedonians my a$$. If macedonias had been anything like you the world would have never even heard of them, ever.

And, me, no, I don't have a life.

for the second post, Macedonia is a Greek name and its root is Macos. A greek mythological person. And as you know, mythology is the History of the very very past years. If you want to call yourselfs as Macedonians, then you just have to be Greeks. And ok, i don't want to be friently, until you try to learn some History stuff you punk.hahaha
